Frequently Asked Questions
An OBM (or Online Business Manager) is coming in to manage your business.
We take over the day-to-day operations and management of your calendar, your tech, your systems, your team, and the planning branch of your business so that you, the business owner, can focus on working with clients or creating content for your next big launch.
This means you can concentrate on being a visionary leader, rather than hustling all damn day over the small stuff.
We make sure that the right THINGS get done at the right TIME, by the right PEOPLE in the right WAY. We’re a business owner’s virtual BFF.
It means you are hiring someone who:
- Has demonstrated a commitment to being an Online Business Manager by making a significant investment of time, money, and energy in an accredited Certified Online Business Manager Training Program.
- Has successfully completed the week-long Certification process which involves working on a series of real projects for real clients.
- Has taken the Online Business Manager Pledge in dedication to our clients – present and future – and in acknowledgment of our own dedication to the profession.
I’m consistently investing in myself and my education to ensure I provide my clients with the best support possible.
The short answer is they can essentially be the same thing depending on the needs of the business (different titles are often used for similar roles).
And there are a few key distinctions:
The role of the OBM is to make sure the right things (planning), get done in the right way (systems), at the right time (project management) by the right people (team management). The specialty of this role is to navigate the early 6-7 figure journey for online/virtual-based businesses.
The Integrator role generally brings a few more things into the mix, including responsibility for overall business strategy (how are we going to reach the vision?), HR, legal, and profitability. This generally kicks in more around the early 7-figure stage when the business needs a more full-time, dedicated person in this role.
There are a few key indicators that you’re READY for the next level.
- You’re consistently making a minimum of $25K per month.
- You’re clear on the vision for your business and have a proven system.
- You’ve become the bottleneck in your business and are ready to hire a team to scale.
- You’re ready to partner with someone who is as emotionally invested in your business as you are. Because a good OBM will be emotionally invested in the success of your business. They’ll care about how strong it is, how much money you make, how happy your clients are. How happy YOU are!
Absolutely! One of my favorite things is working with clients to dive into their business and determine where we can fill the gaps. If you want some help with high-level planning or need to pick my OBM brain about an upcoming launch, pricing your courses, or your membership site but aren’t ready for the long-term commitment of an OBM, you can apply for a Strategy Session here.
Heck ya! Launches are my jam! I love partnering with you to create, optimize, and execute a launch strategy. You can apply for Launch Manager services here.
